TMJ dysfunction, Jaw pain and TMJ Treatment

Temperomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction and Chiropractic approach of TMJ Treatment

TMJ dysfunction (Jaw dysfunction) is a commonly experienced musculoskeletal issue.  People regularly consult us for Chiropractic advice regarding TMJ issues, from clicking, soreness to Jaw tension that seems linked with headaches.

Chiropractic care is focussed on improving the function of the body and Jaw (TMJ) related issues usually require a ‘whole body’ approach.  At Little Mountain Chiropractic, our chiropractors look at your whole body to assess why you are experiencing TMJ problems and to best determine if our approach for TMJ Treatment is likely to help.

We consider the big picture; including your posture, any previous injuries, ongoing stressors, and function of your spine.  By incorporating management of these areas with localised treatment of the TMJ, we aim to improve the quality of function in the jaw and reduce symptoms.  The best way to determine if Chiropractic can help your TMJ / Jaw issues is to have a consultation.  Our practice is located at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast near Caloundra and Aura, so we are accessible for many people living on the Sunshine Coast.

Often Chiropractic care can help with TMJ issues through our holistic TMJ treatment methods, however it is not a ‘cure all’ for TMJ dysfunction and other management including dental support may be more appropriate.  Our commitment to you is that if we don’t think Chiropractic care is the best TMJ treatment option for you, we will let you know and guide you in the right direction to find help.
